Welcome Modesto Chamber members!
What makes a business successful? At the Modesto Chamber of Commerce, we believe it takes identifying an opportunity and using it to your advantage. We are your door to opportunities. Join 1,600 businesses and organizations that already hold "the key" ...Chamber membership. You, too, will open the door to opportunities!

"The Modesto Chamber of Commerce is the local business association. We solve problems and speak out for commerce. As a member, you join 1,600 other businesses in our efforts to make a difference."

Joy Madison , President/CEO, Modesto Chamber of Commerce

Representation
While you’re busy running your business, the Modesto Chamber of Commerce is taking action to improve the local business climate. Staff and volunteers keep this door open between the Chamber and our local, state and federal elected officials. We testify before councils and boards and maintain a constant dialogue, so our voice is heard. We also have representation on numerous advisory groups and committees, addressing topics such as waste water treatment, business license tax, utility users tax, utility costs and various local ordinances.

Economic Development
The Chamber maintains close, positive relationships with the SCEDCO (Success Capital Expansion & Development Corporation), City of Modesto, County of Stanislaus, as well as the California and United States Chambers of Commerce, in order to attract business and retain those that already call Modesto "home."

We have been successful at lobbying for additional business park land, recommending downtown redevelopment projects and tackling tough business issues relating to economic development, such as improving air service and ground transportation.

Our Modesto Convention & Visitors Bureau has an excellent track record of capturing bids for large regional/state conventions, bringing hundreds-and many times-thousands of delegates to Modesto. This means business for our community because delegates and their family and friends are busy spending resources on lodging, meals and related products and services.

Savings
Members of the Modesto Chamber enjoy discounts on publications as well as special events and programs. Another component of membership is the ability to purchase mailing labels, containing over 2,500 Chamber member names, or advertise cost effectively to the business community through our award-winning newsletter, Modesto Progress.

We have taken an active role in urging the city to plan for the needs of business expansion and attraction while shaping their new General Plan. The Chamber is dedicated to the City’s economic development, and our members have a chance to make a difference for business.

Privileges
As a member of the Chamber, you receive the "red carpet" treatment. This door of opportunity provides you with business referrals, ribbon cutting ceremonies, personal visits from the Ambassadors, low-cost business seminars, listings in the Chamber’s Membership Directory, and a free annual subscription to our award-winning newsletter, Modesto Progress, plus, all Chamber members have participation rights in becoming a member of the MOCSE Central Valley Credit Union.

Fun! AKA "Special Projects"
While we work hard, we also play hard! The Chamber holds a number of events for networking and just for the fun of it! Such activities include the Annual Golf Classic, Oktoberfest, Harvest Luncheon, Good Egg Breakfast, as well as the Chamber’s 10-month Leadership Modesto program. Plus, they may result in additional business contacts for you and provide your company with promotional opportunities.

Contacts
Whether you are self-employed or employ 1,000, you’ll find a door to business contacts. The Chamber holds early morning Coffee Hours and Membership Mixers.

Members also build their clientele base by attending New Member Orientations and/or participating on one of the chamber's many committees.

Information Services
The Chamber has an abundance of information. We have economic and demographic information, business start-up kits, as well as the Chamber’s annual Industrial Directory and Organization/Community Service Clubs Booklet. We also have access to California Chamber of Commerce publications that address employer-employee relations, current workplace regulations and much more.
